She Let Him Go

Contributed by juliETTE on Friday, 5th December 2003 @ 06:49:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

He rings the phone off of the wall
But it’s too late, she won’t take the calls
Put her feelings out of her mind like he told her to
It seems whatever was so good didn’t work out
And he wants to talk to her about
Trying to work past the pain he put her through.
She knows that he is needy but her pride won’t let her budge
He walks all over her dreams, but he’ll never be in love

So she let him go – no more bitter tears
She’s crying now but he won’t hear her
Holding on has held her back
And if she gives in and takes him back
What is she to do when something better comes along
He lets her down easy but every time she’s a little less strong
He doesn’t realize the weight of his mistakes
And she can’t offer up her heart for him to break.

No ruthless arguments, no words spoken in vain
No more fear that any day now he will leave her out in the rain
The hardest part is not standing by with a shoulder for him to cry on
She can handle this one of two ways and the easiest is staying gone
Tomorrow will surely be at least as hard as today
But there is no turning back, she’s said all she has to say.

I think this is great. Good message from my standpoint, been going through something similar, and I like your words, they speak to me. I believe them and I'm gonna take them to heart. Thanks for sharing this. Take care.

Emma.
