The artist stood in front of
The empty canvas.
What was he supposed to do.
He was devoid of inspiration
No perspiration.
He didn't have a clue.
A masterpiece,
That's what he wanted to create.
A Mona Lisa,
Anything,
As long as it was first-rate.
He stood there motionless
All through the night
And into the next day.
The sun shone bright through his windows
But his canvas was still bare.
The artist put his brushes away.
