The child inside

Contributed by PumpkinPie on Wednesday, 3rd December 2003 @ 01:42:26 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

She runs to me with a sunny face
Enlightened are the rest of her days
Children's toys and love ahoy!
Are all reserved for this little boy
He smiles and giggles inside her heart
She says he'll be kind and oh-so smart
He'll be a caring doctor,perfect father,attentive teacher,endearing hedonist
Nothing about him will be amiss
He'll change the world, bring peace to man
To those less fortunate he'll give his hand..
------------
In a split second, her dreams all sheer
Her felicity becomes nothing but austere
Her heartbeat seeks nothing but his
All his little stirrings she can reminisce
She looks outside the window and gazes
And thinks about all of life's unexpected phases
Snow falls from the sky,an unflawed, perfect snowflake on the glass appears
She looks at me and says: "He's now my cherished little angel" through her yearning tears

I learned today that my friend lost her baby,so in a way this is dedicated to her and all mothers who have lost a child.~God bless~

It is poetry like this that makes us pause and re-evaluate the priorities in life, realize that which is most valuable and cherish our moments instead of squandering them.

With two children of my own and all the dreams I hold for them, this is a quiet reminder of how fragile and tender these things can be.

nice write.

Wow! What another awesome write by you.

Started out so happy and then that sudden twist. Talk about gut wrencing emotion. This poem made me smile and then tear up in shock because it seem to flow soooo well, I was just reading right through and whoa! Didn't see that coming. Heavy hitting. Full of emotion. You have an incredible expert way with words that's....so amazing. Puimpkin.

Thank you for sharing.

Tim
