I think it's time to trade me in
I've done some things you might call sin,
I cannot play the violin
I think of folks I might have been.
I took me therefore, down the mall,
There, they have a trade-in stall,
You fill you out a questionnaire,
To make a trade while you are there.
This is why I'll trade me in,
My ears they hear an awful din.
My toes do curl like wifey Shirl,
As does my tongue, at night unfurl.
My teeth are shot and like as not,
My eyes are gone, they're red a lot,
My stomach growls, my mind it howls
I sweat enough to use ten towels.
My arms are weak, my nose does leak,
My legs are stalks and soon will pique,
And all in all you add it up,
Not much left that's worth a tup.
I saw a model, looked quite nice,
I held my breathe and asked the price,
The answer was within my range,
Right there and then, we made the change,
You see me now, I'm really wow,
I'd say I am the cat's meow,
Finally, all that's in me works
For an extra ten they thru in perks.

Oh norm this is exceptional...i'm laughing so hard I can't chrititic.....you've still got lots of years in you left....it's OK if you're deaf....I know a marvelous composer that was deaf in both ears...and my how he could compose..my heart he tears.
I'm like Shari could you direct me to the Mall...
I can't hold mine in but I can surely leave a call!
So refreshing, Norm...your poem that is!
warm love for an old worn out poet that doesn't know it......*smiles* 'cause he really isn't don't you see...this is just his way of getting lots of sympathy! |

Hey norm I'd like to try this place
I'm fed up with this sad old face
my life is done that's how I feel
but tell me, can I cut a deal?
I'd like to call, it sounds a doddle
for ten you get a newer model?
I'd really like to try that plenty
how young d'you think I'd get for twenty?
