Winter

Winter’s chill
Wrought things I cannot say
Snow falling
Chap and blister my lips
Everyday walking in a cloud
Everyday talking to no one out loud
As my cheeks Red
As my skin feels cold
As I can’t sleep, feet cold in bed
As I slip, ice on the road
The answer does pervade me
When will it end?

Another season here and the summer so far gone
Winter’s snow brings tears to me, for I am all alone

With the snow came emptiness
Sorrow I can’t comprehend

No rest for the weak of mind
And I yet I am resting all of the time

With the fall
I did fall
And now I sit here at the rock bottom
In Ice and sleet and snow
Happiness lost long ago

My face is shadowed with grim malevolence
A whole new dictum
From here forth hence,
“Do unto them what has been done unto you”

Niceties are alien to me now
I am only bitterness, I am the cow
Used and abused and sad and confused

I am not sure when it will go away
Nor do I care
I only relish in my inopportune
Believing it will never end
I only stand in my own ruin
Believing this is fate’s jest

A cruel joke on me
Played to the beat of the snow falling
It makes me angry this season
Coming at such an impertinent time
It takes me hours to talk reason
Into myself, excuses for the treason
So unfair, so unfit so goddamn appalling

And the snow will keep coming down
It will bury me mounds beneath it
The tears won’t stop falling to the ground
They will drown me where I sit

The answer is clear now, as I stated twice before
It won’t ever end. It will keep coming
Forevermore

Turn thy heart from the ice and sleet, and look forward towards the spring.
