My Nightmare

Contributed by woody on Tuesday, 27th August 2002 @ 08:50:55 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Why do I weep for someone unknown ?
Why can't I cope with this tragedy alone ?
A young life wasted, leaving a family in pain,
Questions unanswered, again and again.

I suffer too, this memory won't go,
You've caused me great anguish, and a pain you don't know,
Visions of you racing round in my head,
An image with sound, even when I'm in bed.

I was perfectly normal, happy and cheerful,
Your selfish act leaves me empty and tearful,
In a couple of seconds, you screwed up my life,
You've also affected my children and wife.

Stress is a horror that is hard to explain,
It gives me an ache and unnecessary pain,
I feel a great sorrow, I know it is grief,
The sadness inside me, is beyond all belief.

You can't hurt me forever, I'm going to fight back,
With help, I can get my life back on the track,
I'm now looking forward, and your memory I'll banish,
And maybe this trauma, you created, will vanish.

Great write woody! That must be a hard memory for you to bare.
I had a friend that was hit by a train (with him it was accidental) and after the initial shock of realizing I'd lost a friend, it actually crossed my mind how hard it must be for the conductor to deal with.

Keep writing.

Curtis
