I never meant the pain I've caused
It seems now you are closing the door
Taking time to heal and mend
And to this trip,put a graceful end
Life gave us both a fancy deal
Where dreams were what seemed more real
And then one day the dream did fade
Now I watch you slip away
If leaving is what you must do
Then I've no call but to say to you
That if your road leads back my way
I'll be here,as I was yesterday
A friend when times were so damn tough
Shelter when you'd had enough
And to me you always came with smiles
A friend to each,across the miles
