Wild Spirit

Contributed by Rissa on Sunday, 30th November 2003 @ 06:13:05 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A wild Spirit resides within my veins,
I thrive on being free.
You say you love me more than life,
If so, you'd let me be.

I'll die if you keep me locked up,
I can't stay in the cold.
To feel the wind beneath my wings,
I'd sacrifice my soul.

You can't love wild Spirits,
They come and go as they please.
Leaving broken hearts in their ashes,
Spreading sorrow and unease.

You've snared a wild Spirit,
Who's learned to love you, too.
Who's sacrificed her very being,
To stay, and be with you.

But Fate is drawing her away,
She can't be here much more.
On to the next adventure,
Mixture of life and lore.

You snared a wild Spirit,
But she's leaving you today.
Though unlike others of her kind,
She dearly wanted to stay...

Mmm I like the last stanza alot, I really liked the imagery in the second stanza but it dissapeared :(

I relate to the theme too, well written.

I'm glad you didn't too. But it is very good. Nice imagery, and great rhyme. Keep it up!

Y'know, I put a bunch of copyright things on this and printed it way back when you said you were trashing all your writings. Bet you don't remember that. =D But anyway. That's how much I loved, and still do love this one.

Keep writing lest the Mightyeth Fingereth get angered,

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
