Ponder
Switch on the computer
Peering at the screen
Checking for an email
A smoke and some caffeine
When you sit and ponder
It’s really rather grey
Thirty million people
And nothing left to say
Raindrops on the window
Grey skies up above
Need for forward motion
So you give yourself a shove
Looking for an answer
To the things you want to do
Carry your cloud with you
As you sit and think it through
Not really feeling lonely
Or even feeling blue
The fact you don’t feel anything
Convinces you it’s you
You don’t need an answer
For the question’s pretty clear
If you’re not happy doing this
Then why are you still here.
Memories consuming
Waste away the day
Past is past the saying goes
Still; hard to breakaway
Looking back through memories
At things that once had been
Switch off the computer
But still peering at the screen
