The shining stars emerge at night
From Earth they are just points of light
Constellations from patterns born
From lion's mane to Taurus' horn
Sirius rules all of the night
Resting high above, burning bright
The North Star guides and never rests
Engulfs the dark that it arrests
The evening star Hesperus
Sears with the heat of Erebus
Radiance breaks the cold night air
Lights piercing through from heaven's lair
Connect the parts of Cepheus
Or crushing claws of Scorpius
See Draco's fire breath attack
watch Phoenix rise from ashes black
Menacing Hydra swims nearby
Lupus howls at black blanket skies
With beauty white Columba glides
On shadow air Auriga rides
Aries' horns are hewn from pure bone
Illumined Crux marks southern zone
The grace of Cygnus is sublime
They'll all pray at Ara in time
Half man Centaurus gallops through
Sweet Virgo is reborn anew
Monocerous majestic stands
The wings of Aquila expand
All the glitz hides the horrendous wonder
Of the infinite black reaches of the vastness of space
The stars and sky are all a lie fabricated to hide
What lies beyond the spurious beauty of the face
Fiery Sun the center piece
Feel the pummelling heat increase
Mercury is the closest in
Love goddess Venus lives in sin
Tiny Pluto too far to reach
The planet Earth is a life leach
Titan Jupiter looms nearby
Four satellites filling it's sky
But what is there we cannot see
Living in this small galaxy
A grain of sand on a vast beach
I must have what's beyond my reach
What other forms of life exist
Shrouded in outer space dark mist
What other horrors live therein
What strange events will soon begin
All the glitz hides the horrendous wonder
Of the infinite black reaches of the vastness of space
The stars and sky are all a lie fabricated to hide
What lies beyond the spurious beauty of the face
Violent vortex spins swiftly
An unexplained anomaly
Consuming all, even starlight
Black cyclone on a path of blight
The Aurora Borealis
Northern lights beaming prismatic
Asteroid field hurling through sky
Striking planets, making them die
In the distance a hazy fog
A nebula like a thick bog
A gaseous cloud of poison smoke
Or a star group in sullen cloak
Shooting through as an icy hail
The comet with it's tiictured tail
Frozen solid but scorching hot
A glacial flame travelling non stop
Pulling force of magnetic belt
The strength of the tenth planet's felt
Moon counters sun and causes waves
These tides of time are what I crave
Time is changing
Sky is morphing
Couds are forming
Lightning forking
Turbulent night begins to race
Drawing up the curtains of space
One by one all the stars nova
Leaving the true darkness above
The hands of doom begin to tick
The wall of space falls brick by brick
My hourglass is running low
Destruction of the thin time flow
True outer space is now exposed
The timeless zone has now arose
A thousand toothed monster draws near
The chaos dimension is here
Lakes of fire burning around
Huge walls of pain are coming down
God is sitting there on his throne
The reaper rules his hall of bone
Abaddon enforces the pain
His magic spells bring acid rain
Notion of beauty is humbled
The facade of space has crumbled
...Deceptive beauty
...Good and evil
...Hand in hand

You have great knowledge of the universe and you use it like an artist on canvas...
This kind of work should be in a special section of YPDC...It is great.. |

Hmn. I don't know how I've missed this one so far . . . how can I describe the way this makes me feel?
I'll start with 'awed'. Yes, that's the word.
Then, 'deeply impressed', then ending up (after skipping several more) with truly inspired.
"Huge walls of pain are coming down" - made the title complete.
Poetically, this isn't your best, but visually - its as grand a spectacle as anyone's likely to have portrayed for them in here, or any other poetry site, for that matter.
Respect, V.S. - Respect. |
