The Posters

Contributed by hsnra on Thursday, 27th November 2003 @ 11:00:05 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

She walked into her school
When she got the worst surprise
She realized all her boyfriend ever said was lies
Posters everywhere
Of her naked on his bed
She looked in shock and sadly shook her head
She thought she loved him
But he obviously didn’t feel the same way
It felt like her entire life was ending today
Teenagers surrounding her
Laughing in deride
She wished she could just runaway and hide
The school day had ended
She sadly walked home
When her boyfriend called her and asked how she was
She said how am I supposed to be
After how you treated me?
She asked him why he did it and he said
Your nothing but a p**** I left loose
She hung up the phone and began to make her noose
Late at night
After her parents went to bed
She began to feel the fright
Building up in her head
She wrapped the rope around the base of the fan
She never imagined she’d kill herself over one man
She pulled the chair
To under where she’d soon hang
She thought of a song her mother once sang
And when her brother said he loved her for the first time
Remembered when her dad said she was beautiful
But still life just wasn’t even worth a dime
She stood on the chair
and lifted her hair
pulled the rope around her neck
she thought to herself “noose, body, chair…check”
she jumped off quickly
and snapped her neck in half
the next day when her boyfriend heard all he did was laugh

Woah. That was awe inspiring. You made such a sad story into an amazing poem. I really am lost for words that will give you credit enough for this piece.
I hope the story's not true.
Well done!

One thing this site has taught me is that something like 25% of my fellow poets are involved in one suicide or another.
