Too Weak To Cry

SHE'S SIX MONTHS OLD AND SHOULD BE FIT,
INSTEAD SHE'S GOING TO DIE,
SHE'S SUDANESE AND STARVING,
SHE'S FAR TO WEAK TO CRY.
HER DESPERATE MOTHER IS HELPLESS,
SHE HAS NO MILK TO GIVE,
THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO FEED HER CHILD,
SHE KNOWS SHE WILL NOT LIVE.
LIFE HERE HAS NO VALUE,
HUNDREDS DIE EVERY DAY,
THEIR CRIES FOR HELP, UNANSWERED,
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
A FEW HOURS LATER IT'S OVER,
THE CHILD HAS LEFT THIS HELL,
AND ALL OVER THIS WRETCHED COUNTRY,
OTHERS BEGIN TO YELL.
