A Mother’s Meditation
How mystical the fog looks,
Rolling in so slowly.
The rushing sound of a brook,
The moon above me glowing.
Peaceful here when I am alone,
Seeking nothing but solitude.
Forgetting all the treasures I’ve owned,
And all of my negative attitudes.
I come here when I need tranquility,
I come here when I need rest.
I do not come here often enough,
But, I really do try my best.
I hope no one turns the lights on,
I hope no one knocks on the door.
As soon as I open my eyes it’s gone,
Please just a few minutes more.
