THE ROCK!

On Calvary’s tree hung He there for me,
As the timber turned red with His Blood,
A washing began for the sins of all men,
And our filth flowed away by that flood.
He came from a throne, to a manger was born,
To the stink that came from that dark cave.
But all did seem lost as He carried His cross,
Then was laid in a tomb for a grave.
As the curtain was torn, a new temple was born.
And it’s built on the site of our hearts.
Since He rose from His tomb, He has built me a room,
Where I’ll live when my new life I start.
To serve man as a slave then be placed in a grave,
May seem awful harsh for a King.
But the only plan that could save a lost man,
Was to spill blood so we could be saved!
To His throne He now cleaves, and will never more leave,
As He judges mankind with His rod.
Now the angels sing praise to the Rock of all age,
And they bow at His feet as our God!
