I met her at the bar, I did. I did.
I met her at the bar, but I have a kid.
She sat in box seats & I on the stage.
She held a drink & I had baggage.
Never could I love you, she said. She said.
Never could I love you; why not drop dead?
She held the hammer & I had a nail.
She swung down & I went pale.
Went to the dance floor with someone else.
Went to the dance floor I'm by myself.
She had my heart & gave it to him.
His name was Joe; my name is Jim.
I met her at the bar, I did. I did.
I met her at a bar. Now I'm home with my kid.

have we all been to that bar at one time or another? clever write - hiding pain behind sly humor - nice treatment. it's tough getting out there and trying to start again -
"the searching for one thing will find another"
