If I knew before I met you
How much it would hurt to say goodbye,
Would I have walked on past you,
Never looked you in the eye?
Would I have guarded myself against
All those lessons you taught me,
To keep myself from all this pain,
And my heart still young and free?
If I could make the choice...
If I could go back somehow...
Would I walk on past you...
Or say hello to Fate's last bow?

I do believe we have all asked ourselves this same question at one time in our lives or another. The answer I keep finding is, Yes..I would do it all again. For the knowledge I have learned through each and every trial has far outweighed any hurt. Great poem... |

Gin, I've asked myself that question a thousand times and even if I knew what the end result was going to be... I'd do it all over again. It's that pesky little thing called hope, I'd always make myself believe there was a chance for things to work out differently.
Ever see the movie Groundhogs Day? I'd be willing to live it over and over until it worked out right.
Beautiful write as always

Only you know that. If you're thinking fate would replay differently . . . then I don't know. We're a million different people from one eventuality to the next, and foresight/hindsight may or may not affect this.
Thanks for the reflections. |
