CHILD,S EYES

Contributed by JACKRIEMER on Monday, 24th November 2003 @ 12:04:37 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I told my baby
Who's all of three
Grandpa,s gone
He can no longer be
In your life to hug and to hold
He couldn't stay here
You have to be told
He's gone to heaven
She began to cry
I said to her
You have to try
To see God needed him more than you
She shook her head and said that's not true
She stopped crying long enough to say
Why did grandpa go, why couldn't he stay
In her eyes I saw the pain
That she'll never see grandpa again
All of a sudden she looked at me
My darling little girl of three
What she said knocked me off track
Daddy, I want you to go to heaven
And bring my grandpa back
