full room... empty morning

Contributed by Written2bRead on Sunday, 23rd November 2003 @ 11:04:07 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Plain white bedroom walls, painted with melancholy
I'm not tired, but I don't want to be awake
and I can't go to sleep though I'm exhausted
wish I could just say "pass" on this day.
No space for happiness inside this room
'cuz the only thing inside is me and a phone
a busy signal or dial tone-
-because...
everyone's either gone or asleep this morning
and it seems this morning lasts all day.
-clothes and books and change on my floor
but no change anywhere else
every morning's just the same

wake up with no plans/no promises
...at least none that count...
there's no voice/no encouragement
...just my own solo sound...
no thoughts but my own to discourage me

tears roll off my face,
but I'm not THAT sad
maybe I'm just used to
sitting on This bed- (which is...)
the home of all the thoughts
I don't want to be hearing
thoughts that take me over
as I stare at This ceiling-
It steals my gaze
for hours and hours on the days
I wish that I/never had to wake
These windows-
no one would bother knocking
always closed
but the sunlight is still mocking
no one would bother to come into my room
'cept the good weather I can only spend alone

hopefully someone I hate will call to keep me busy,
maybe THEY could spend this beautiful day with me
seems like everyone's gone,
but I could never get ahold of them anyway
they were never there for me to begin with-
to begin with
to begin with a morning like this just eats at me

I am me, all alone, wasted
I'm worthless here;
here for no one but my room to steal my worth
I keep my door closed
to keep in the heater's unhuman warmth.
The rest of the world is so cold
but outside this room is my only chance for company
my company out there hiding,
perhaps in their rooms unsitisfied like me
the recluses and I sleeping in,
sleeping in
sleeping in tears and waiting for a tomorrow
one that might give change or at least let me borrow
the soul of another recluse like me
to help me out of this room/set me free

I certainly here u and do understand.
I use 2 feel this way but with my writing and putor, I have the world at my fingertips and I can turn off what I don't like and find more.
I've jus learned over the years how to entertain myself.
Hang tuff!
peace, joy, luv, hope,
emy

You speak what I have and do go through. Painful to read because I feel this. Excellent write. Take care.

such feelings of emptiness...has me darkened by the sadness, undertones of "I want out"
If I could send you anything,it would be something to nurture you
Please stay strong..as strong as this write. It really has depth and amazing imagery.
