The Girl No One New

Contributed by echomywurdz on Sunday, 23rd November 2003 @ 01:38:32 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

my friend never felt like she belonged
she was the one listening to goth music
while others were listening to rap songs
she was the one who stayed to herself
who perfured not to talk or feel any kind of emotion the only one who stood out
she wasnt popular you could tell that with out a doubt
and yet she didnt care she just wanted to be free
everyone thought she was beatiful but not her
she was never good enough for her father
he hated the way she only wore black
he didnt understand her or the way she would act
so every night she went to bed not feeling worthy
she'd slit her wrist and then cry untill she couldnt any more
and her father didnt know what went on and really didnt care
and if he did though he would probably be scared
but one night him being his nosey self stayed up and watch her through a hole in the wall
he saw her sit there and slit her wrist he saw her then brake down and cry
then her father just felt horrible and wanted to die
now he understood but not clearly so he just went out and tryed to erase that part of his memory
and the next morning when the father awoke he went in his daughters room and nearly choked
he saw her lying there lifelessly on the bed god only new what ever went on in her head
no one really knew who this girl was or what she could ever be
but i know because this girl was me..........

I'm really at a loss as to why there is only one comment on this poem. I really loved it, it shows the girls (your) pain very clearly and points out a sad topic in life - parents not really understanding what their children are going through and not really caring. I especially like how you built up the poem right until the end and then said how the girl was you. Sorry if I'm not making much sense here, I just woke up, but I really loved reading this poem. I hope everything gets better for you with time. Look after yourself and if this is how you really feel then maybe you should try talking to your dad, let him know what's going on in your mind and that you don't think he cares. It's worth a try.

Stacey
