Sunburn
Sometimes I think you’re the only light in the day.
You turn a chill to warmth, what can I say?
You can burn me anyway.
No way I would stop you.
Do what you do.
Just burn me with a love that’s true.
With a journey this long,
We both have to be strong.
I want sunshine,
I don’t want snow.
I’ll pick you up when you’re feeling low.
And we’ll keep each other company as we both learn and grow.
I know you could touch any star in the sky.
You could wrap your arms around the moon if you tried.
But I hope you will always have room for me in your life.
