jack frost

Contributed by Merry on Saturday, 22nd November 2003 @ 03:19:26 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

a pattern on the windowpane
my icy fingers trace
the frozen filligree
until the sun melts it away
i strain to see the artist
who painted this for me
but he is long gone and distant
before i rose from sleep
i wonder did he watch over me
drawing pictures while i dreamt
was he the shadow in the dark
the prince i could not see?
will he return with steamy breath
to greet the frosty morn
his words are woven in the mist
imprinted as a kiss
