All is not well in Paradise

All is not well in paradise it seems
Why was my steak not cooked to my liking ?
Why is the sea always far too cold ?
The man in the next room sings rude songs in the shower
My pillow sags in the middle, it's far too annoying when trying to sleep

Last night I took a walk in the dark on the beach
Where a couple were showing their love in the sand
It wasn't the noise so much that disturbed me
More the fact that I tripped over her bag

The breeze blows the pages of my book when I put it down
So I never know quite what chapter I'm on
There's a parrot in a cage near where I place my sunbed
But the infernal bird will never stop squawking
Does it not realise I'm on holiday, I need to be relaxed

And the palm tree that sways above my head
Well it would be nice if coconuts didn't keep tumbling off
And the sand, they never said in the brochure about it sticking to my legs
And I spent all that money on having them waxed

Why does the maid only come to my room in mid afternoon when I sleep
Yes the wine here is cheaper, but it doesn't taste like back home
And in how many karaoke bars must I suffer the tunes that every drunkard is destined to sing
It seems the Wild Rover has never left these shores

These words have been spoken on days I've been warmed by the light of the radiant sun
I smile a little smile, close my eyes, relax and drift away
Their sentiments I do not share, here is where I chose to be
All is not well in paradise, but all is well for me
