Hopes & Dreams

Do you have
hopes and dreams?
They're the things
that keep you going
when you don't think
you can go any farther.
They're the things
that people will sometimes
dismiss as childish fantasies.
Everyone will tell you
to forget them,
but you won't.
You'll just keep
wishing upon stars,
and keep hoping to get
one chance
to prove yourself.
When you do make it,
people will be surprised,
but you won't be.
Because you knew
that you'd make it
eventually.
And when you do...
You'll know that you made
something of yourself.
And then you'll
pat yourself
on the back
for a job well done.
Because you'll achieve
more than you could
ever hope for
in your wildest dreams.
And you know what?
That's exactly
what you're hoping for.
