Afterthought

Contributed by Avarice_Riot on Thursday, 20th November 2003 @ 12:14:01 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I don't know why I do the things I do
Or think the way I do
Or act the little scenes I do.
All I know is that you were always
on hand to save me when
it seemed like the edge was set
to consume me.
All the little pieces of lost time and
recollections unite as a hazy fog
of pervasive ghosts
Flying all around me.
I don't know anyone else who
would take a physical blow
for me if not you.
You made me art when I
made you trash
And in all the existant chaos
It was the beautiful, flawed
perfect symbiotic camaraderie
that kept these flames alive.
Now, if I coul have the chance
to tell you that I appreciated it
More than you could ever know
I could try to write it down
in a letter
And it hope it reaches you
where you lay
I would have told you
I love you
I miss you the way the earth craves
the sun
And that the only reason I breathe
is to know why I was kept alive
And you weren't.

Wow I really liked this poem...sad...but a lot of people leave things unsaid and a lot of people never hear those words...I know that I wish I'd said some words to a few different people and that someone had said some words to me that they told a friend but never told me...I heard it fomr my friend...anyway this was a great write.

Emma.

I really like this poem. Sad, and I can feel your pain in it.

*hugs*
