Cupids Arrow

Contributed by doug on Wednesday, 19th November 2003 @ 08:38:07 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

my heart it seems has waited for centurys on end
to hear the happy whistle of his arrow in the wind
hes been here many times before his arrows always missed
only by a hair though I would to myself insist
wait I hear him coming yes he flys upon the wind
this will be the moment that my sorrow knows an end
the arrow is so beautiful the love it must contain
I jumped up from my lonely chair my hope I can't restrain
ah my friend hes saying the time has come to pass
soon you'll feel the passion of loves enternal grasp
the string he pulls back tightly and lets the arrow fly
it breaks into against my chest and at my feet it lys
pity feels the angels face I ask him what this means
you are dead inside he said darkness fills your dreams
happiness you've never known and love you'll never see
there are no arrows here for you your love can never be
and with this he flies away I've never seen him since
against my growing depression I now have no defense
for my heart it seems has waited for centurys on end
to see that smiling angel that I'll never see again

I don't believe that. I believe there is love out there for everyone. Sometimes the desperation for love drives love away. I had to accept that but once I did I found out that people are willing to love you if you're willing to love yourself and open to loving others.

Wonderfully written love of any real value takes centuries to find...but they do eventually arrive...usually as soon as you stop looking and when you least expect it. Patience..I love the way you presented this.might have flown better on Valentines Day...smile.
