A Hollow Cry

Contributed by SaintInExile on Wednesday, 19th November 2003 @ 04:14:35 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The cool blue moon rises over a black and grey portrait of us.
A light breeze whispers ominous messages about emptiness and escape.
The ice has a hollow clink against the glass, the alcohol begins to burn and soothe simultaneously as it rushes down our throats and we are overtaken by a whirlwind of sensations.
Pain and pleasure mix with frustration and hopelessness as we look in each other’s dimly lit, empty eyes, void of the sexy glances, the curious stares, and the knowing smiles.

You used to laugh under the covers.

Now our nights are spent in an intoxicated ricochet of emotions and alcoholic mood swings, the night clouds spread across an already black sky above us…we live in a state of horror.
Have we forgotten the suspense, the nervous first times, the mystery, can we try to discover each other all over again?
My fake guns and tasteless art and your sexy outfits and liquor is all that we will ever need, we can start all over again.

Do you remember when there were real words instead of games?

Do you remember when we used to lie on our bed and ask each other what we were thinking; well tell me what you’re thinking now.
Tell me about the endless nights together, the nights we wouldn’t sleep, the long days where we hid out from the world in my bed.
Tell me about the parties and the drinking and the fun times we had together, tell me you never want them to end.
Tell me about the posh rouge wallpaper and how you want to drive through Maine in the fall. Tell me all about the book you want to write and tell me about your cat jumping onto your lap and how cute she looked. Tell me about your dreams, your fantasies, and your fears.
Tell me you’ll never leave me and you need my love. Tell me we are perfect together and you never want things to change. Tell me all the things you can’t tell anyone else. Tell me that you can’t live without me…and I’ll be yours.
