I Do Not Want Her

Contributed by Cora-Windover on Tuesday, 18th November 2003 @ 09:50:47 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

For every step that I have taken
Some things never change
The sun will always rise each day
They'll always think I'm strange

There always will be someone who
Will love me as a friend
There always will be darker times
And I might need her then

But if you ask me plainly
I will say to you again
That she is nothing more to me
That she is just a friend

Oh if I do not want her, then
Is that too big a crime?
If she is just a friend to me
Is that too much this time?

For every word that I have spoken
Something's always there
And lyrics, riffs, and melody
Make music in the air

There always will be someone who
Can take me as I am
And always, in the darkest times
She'll lend a helping hand

But if you ask me plainly
I will say to you again
That she is nothing more to me
She's no more than a friend

Oh, if I do not want her, then
Is that so big a crime?
Again, I do not love her!
Tell me, why are you so blind?
