The First Day

It was the first day.
Too soon to tell.
No one could know if we would sink or sail.
Ever since that day,
A new light now shines inside.
Piercing through the darkness…
I have nowhere left to hide.
I want to be your Earthly rock.
You can hide behind me always.
I may not be as strong as some,
But I hope you’ll trust me anyway.
I’ll do all this and more.
I hope you believe,
And oh how I hope you can see.
Girl, I love you,
Would you do the same for me?
The distances between our hearts keep us coming back for more,
Oh so desperately…
I’ve never felt this way before,
All I can hope is you love me.
