The Fade from Dark to Light

Contributed by zaowhvn on Tuesday, 18th November 2003 @ 12:55:11 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Emptying his memory of her with a barrel of a gun
He enters a deep sleep of eternal peace bringing
Prolonged suffering to the people who truly loved him
Forgeting thoughts of one day he will find a girl
That won't paint his memories with blood and roses
But cover up the existing mural of surrealistic dreams
With purity and words without poison
It's sad to think memories die with a person
Just think of all the things he never told anyone
Clouds of smoke now replace those memories and
What used to be his brains
Meanwhile she sits contimplating on dialing
The seven numbers to her heart
She realizes there is need to lie to herself anymore
So she keeps calling back
At least a dozen times in a half an hour
She needed to tell him that she was sorry and how she truly felt
And it doesn't matter at all if he didn't understand
He would accept it
He would have
If he was still alive to answer the phone
But she waited too long
And lives the rest of her life with the night before
As her last words to her true love

Are you psychic? Are we the same person? The parallels of this experience to my own are rattling. I can see why it's your favorite. Absolutely stunning piece.
