I can't believe you

Contributed by katzie on Monday, 17th November 2003 @ 06:06:26 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Best friends.. perhaps more
I've told you all emotion
You told me you felt the same way
I gave you my devotion

Not an inch did I stray
Not a thought against you
With you I stayed
My bond remained true

Little hints of affection
placed in my ear
Headed in good direction
I felt you so near

We did everything together
Everything or nothing at all
I had no doubt whether
all problems we could resolve

In a single moment
A single day
I must now lament
Why must it be this way?

As soon as you heard word
That another found you amusing
Your actions absurd
I found myself losing

You left my that day
And took with you my soul
You are no longer to stay
I am no longer whole

You've known me for long
And her perhaps half a night
I know you're so wrong
Your thoughts are not right

You think that you love her
but that can't be so
There was no times for emotion to stir
What you did to me was low

Willing to risk my friendship and love
Merely for an exciting twist
I know not what you were thinking of
But I am not going to accept this

What I'd wanted from you was good
I could have given you much in return
I thought that you had understood
But love I guess you haven't learned

It isn't about how pretty she is
or popular in she is in her school
It's what we had, and that isn't this
I can't believe you were such a fool.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
