Off to my friends for a visit
for some girly shopping again
took The 10.15 to Cambridge
and this time I am going by Train
I think the driver forgot he had brakes
as we came to a stop with such force
and a woman got on all laden with bags
and a dog as big as a horse.
I turned away so not to see
pretended to look at the view
but she stood in the aisle right next to me
and said, "Is this seat taken next to you".
I looked around the carriage
nearly every seat was free
but no this Lady decided
she wanted to sit next to me.
I like to choose a seat she said
that looks all safe and secure
there`s some strange folk on trains these days
and so you never can be too sure
With a bump she finally sat down
I nearly sprang out of my seat
she piled our space with her luggage
and the dog sat down on my feet.
Her dog then saw I was eating
he started to stare and drool
and all I could do was let out a sigh
as it gathered on my skirt in a pool
Oh now dont pay any attention to him
he wouldnt hurt a fly she said
I dont care about killing flies I thought
its my feet that are feeling dead
The woman then proceeded to tell me
of every operation she has ever endured
I nodded and smiled and sympathized
and said I`m glad that now she seemed cured
It`s The 10.15 to Cambridge
and I`m not one to make a fuss
but this journey from hell has taught me
The next time I go on the bus.

Or better yet... drive yourself by car... that way you don't have to worry about unexpected visitors beside you... lol... Great write Penny!
