At Grandma's House

Contributed by norm on Monday, 17th November 2003 @ 12:09:26 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Gramma's house is where to go
For turkey, stuffing, Uncle Joe,
Once a year, we all meet here,
And swing upon the chandelier.

There's cousin, Nan and brother, Dan,
My cousin Nan has one big can,
My brother, Dan, he's like as not,
Looped and reeling, drinks a lot.

But nothing like my gramp, the dear,
Poor old gramps is hard to hear,
His voice is gone, the Lord invoke,
When gramp attempts to tell a joke.

Aunt Sadie, who is Joe's dear wife,
Is in the kitchen with a knife,
The turkey's last is on the plate,
We sit at five so don't be late.

Aunt Helen was the wife of Joe,
Before Aunt Sadie came with dough,
It's kind of fun at supper time,
To watch both girls look so sublime.

There isn't one of you can say,
It's any different, Turkey day,
The folks within your YumYum tree,
Are just the same as mine to see.

Well done Norm Indeed
All to Grandma's house in need.
She's a loving lady, and soon fulfills
not just our tummies but also with sad ills.
with hugs, love, kindnesses too.
Oh how I used to love to go to my Grandma's house to dine
She made me feel like everything was just fine.
Great Poem Norm....always so enjoyable...and your music teacher set your timing for rhyming. Perfectly!
lovingcritters
I forgive you for your horrible comments to me
maybe if I love you with kindness, my angry will be set free!
