Among the Birds

Contributed by Suboshi on Sunday, 16th November 2003 @ 03:46:20 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

She walks alone in a crowed street
As if led by puppet strings
Feet cast forward, eyes cast to the sky
Where the birds fly free and so high
She envied those birds because the can fly free
And not be held down by silly little puppet strings
For she has dreamed for so long to turn into a bird
So she could leave this cold and hurtful world
Free among the clouds
No sorrow to hold her down
But these puppet strings get heavier
As she is forced to stay on the ground
A silly little dream of being free
Slowly changes into reality
The world didn’t notice or seem to care
That day-by-day she fades just a little
As she slowly becomes transparent to you and me
Until all that is left is those silly little puppet strings
For her dream has finally come true
And among the birds
She is flying happy and true
