Bad Reception

Contributed by texasw97 on Sunday, 16th November 2003 @ 11:41:35 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It started out like peaches and cream
She was everywhere even in my wet dreams
Conversation after conversation with no hesitation
Never knew a brotha could have so much patience
A quickie here and a quickie there
We pretty much talked from everywhere
A movie or just some late night TV
It didn’t matter, with her is where I wanted to be
Sweet nothings were being said into each others ear
Had a big “S” on my chest with nothing to fear
In my time of need she was always there
Especially the times that life wasn’t fair
She had a plug that I wanted to enter
The one that if you are not married makes you a sinner
I believe there musta been a storm approaching
For some strange reason she left me choking
Gasping for air like a fish out of water
Like a bird without it’s wings that can’t fly any farther
The times that were once precious as a newborn baby
The times that had me labeling her as my lady
Were slowly but showly drifting away
Like the sun on a cold rainy day
It musta been a bad thunderstorm
For she starting acting rude with such a bad attitude
I couldn’t react back because I promised I wouldn’t do her harm
But I couldn’t help it; she was treating me like an ordinary dude
How could something turn from good to bad in just a few hours
Be so sweet at first and then later become so sour
I blame our relationship on the lighting
Because that’s the only thing that can produce something so frightening
For the line that we communicated on used to be clear
Now static is the only thing that I hear

This poem asks the question that I have always wondered..how someone could be so full of love for someone else one day...and lose it the next..the only answer I have ever come up with is that from their end...it was never really love. True love doesn't just disappear....no matter what the outcome of the relationship may be..the love will always be there on some level...
