Breached Nullity

Contributed by sicknivesevered on Sunday, 16th November 2003 @ 12:33:10 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

LAYING HERE IN THE CRADLE - I'VE FOUND THE SURFACE LEAKS
MY HANDS PUSH THROUGH THE STICKY EMBANKMENT
I EMERGE SWALLOWING SALT - MY COMPREHENSION FALLS APART
AS MY EYES ROLL FROM THE ENGAGEMENT

BROKE DOWN - and weeping here
TORN DOWN - and bleeding here
LET DOWN - and seething here
SHUT DOWN - and floating here

CURLED IN THE EMBRYO - BREATHING AS THE FETUS GROWS
I CAN FEEL ANOTHER SWIMMING NEAR
A COMPANION I THOUGHT - WHILE MY MIND IS NOT
BROODING AND ABSENT OF FEAR

BROKE DOWN and weeping here - TORN DOWN and bleeding here
LET DOWN and seething here - SHUT DOWN and floating here
In time distinctly I will find the reason - Then maybe I could cure this lesion

SMOTHERED - I AM AWAKE
THEREFORE - I SUFFOCATE

There is no light in this tomb of life
CRIPPLED AND CROSSED I AM DEFECTIVE
Salvation breeds your own damnation
PARANOID OF DEPRAVATION
And calloused souls hide their tears
FLAYED OF EYES, EXPOSED SHINE MINE
And furors birthed, though died the jeers
BUTCHERED BY YOUR DISDAIN

The blue dress [the aura lies] You regress [and we divide]

The fetus stirs

BROKE DOWN and weeping here - TORN DOWN and bleeding here
LET DOWN and seething here - SHUT DOWN and floating here
In time distinctly I will find the reason - Then maybe I could cure this lesion
Pretend (conform) Pretend (loosed hold) Pretend for healing
Pretend (under) Pretend (over) descend to no feeling

Sometime - hopefully
I will emerge - and be free
Of your - embracing negligence
And learn - to not dwell on happenstance
Butchered by this

omFg, this is amazing. So much said and so well stated too. I like the image in the beginning, it gives the sense of the broken illusion of safety (the cradle) and realizing that this world is really not safe that it really is here to destroy us. Also all the images of being trapped really added a believable identifiable element to this piece. Most of the poems i see here, i really don't care to look twice. The complexities of this poem made me read it about three times, getting something else out of it everytime. Also, the changes capitalizations really sharpened the tone of the poem. Like rising and falling waves of desperation. This poem is too good for words,
