I’ll really miss you
She said through an electronic medium
And it disturbed him to realise
His choices had consequences
And could not stop
The debt of indecision
I’ll really miss you
Values untested, rang untrue
To prove the armour false and defective
A lie to oneself fools no-one
Cracked and blistered
By honest revelation
I’ll really miss you
The idea that he was
And the girl that was silent
Lost in lonely past
Replaced in dirty vision
By fields of the dead
I’ll really miss you
In reverse ‘you’ and ‘I’
Might have better suited
A more just plan
So I could say
What keeps me awake
I’ll really miss you
