Transition

Topic: Lifepoems

At first I didn’t miss him
I felt tremendous relief
As time went by, I missed my friend
Till I realized he was a thief

He stole my peace of mind
And my heart, he did rend
So I became determined
My heart, I would not let mend

Anger would suit me well
My purpose it did fit
To me, nothing he could tell
I just didn’t give a *****!

Somewhere in the midst of this tale
I missed him all too much
No understanding of how we could fail
I imbibed to hide the thoughts of such

I didn’t want to hear his voice
Though the sound I did miss
I didn’t seem to have a choice
I even missed his kiss

Then I came to realize
With help from a friend
The love I felt he gave me
He never knew how to send

I accepted this imitation
As simply put as can be
It seems, ‘twas my own limitation
I believed he was better than me

At least for a moment
I hope I can truly believe
I have worth and am heaven sent
I have been granted reprieve

It’s no matter what he thinks of me
Or what things of him I may hear
Fear of losing his love is foolish you see
I can’t lose what was never there

Now I am looking through different eyes
At all the world around
Though circumstance may vary
My hopefulness, it will abound
