All I Wish For

Contributed by MisterRight on Saturday, 24th August 2002 @ 11:32:12 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I wish you were still here,
Lying sleeping by my side.
I wish to find that feeling,
I once had so deep inside.
I wish to have the chance,
To see your smile glowing.
I wish to travel back in time,
To when our love was still growing.
I wish I could once more,
Taste the sweetness of your lips.
I wish for one more dance,
To feel the rhythm of your hips.
I wish to feel the warmth,
And caring of your embrace.
I wish again to see the sun,
The way it highlights your perfect face.
I wish to hear you say the words,
That you will always be mine.
I wish just once I’d wake in the morning,
Knowing next to me it’s you I’ll find.
I wish for you to lay your head in my lap,
Letting me run my fingers through your hair.
I wish to spend my life with you,
We made such a wonderful pair.
I wish again to hear you say I love you,
With the delicate sound of your voice.
I wish that things had been different,
I wish I had been your choice.
I wish one day you’ll wear my wedding ring,
I’d gladly make you my wife.
I wish you really knew what you mean,
You are the life of my life.
I wish you were around to fill,
The emptiness within my heart.
I wish you had wishes of me,
At least it would be a start.
I wish one of my wishes,
Might someday finally come true.
I wish, I wish, and I wish,
But all I wish for is you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
