Enter the Twilight

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Friday, 14th November 2003 @ 07:14:31 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Morning breaks as I rise from sleep
The night is gone, alone I weep
Across the sky the golden blanket will creep
Within my body the darkness will keep

Heart skips a beat, am I really awake
Could all my life be a fatal mistake
Through meadow's path I approach the shimmering lake
Breathtaking in twilight, this swamp's beauty is fake

I look into the water, false truths dance in my head
Just can't figure why on this path I was led
Within my ears ring the words that were said
My heart is as the withered trees, barren and dead

So begins the dawning of a new day
Revelations of the first ray
Given the true sight
So begins the molding of clay
As the shroud fades away
Enter the twilight

Autumn leaves crushed beneath my feet on the ground
Along with the dreams I thought i'd found
Decaying branches extend all around
As hands to pull me off the path which I am bound

Bathing in the orange and crimson hue
A dead end of twisted vines is in view
Beneath the drawing curtain where nightbirds flew
Writhes the growing wall to engulf you

So begins the dawning of a new day
Revelations of the first ray
Given the true sight
So begins the molding of clay
As the shroud fades away
Enter the twilight

Golden light breaks the withered canopy
Blinding, burning, shining upon me
Illuminating things I thought i'd never see
Spurious truth, enlightened to a fallacy

Morning rises across the horizon line
Skyfire overtakes the eve that was mine
Present time going out in decline
The writing's on the wall, i've been given the sign

Vividly breathtaking. I'm altogether overwhelmed by the solid emotion in this piece.
Brilliant! Keep writing,

Eve
