How surprising is it, to hear from me
As for the last time we spoke has been a couple weeks
Yea sure, we had our Good Mornings, and have a good days
But they became little more than habits these days
Whatever happend to those moments, when we would just talk
And those days we would go fishing, or hunting or out for a walk
Yea, I spend alot of time with my computer online
But that doesn't mean it's all I want to do with my time
It's taken nearly 19 years, but I feel as if I'm ready to put the past offically behind
But everytime your around, the same old fear I find
You used to threaten my life, whether you meant it or not who knows
But I also remember learning to play chess when I was 5, learning what move goes
Then there was the times, we sat out in the woods, on the painting van
Even though we'd always end up shooting at some sign or a beer can
I still remember though, the shouting of you voice
As I locked myself within my room , I had no other choice
I remember the echoing of the blows
As you struck mother, countless times and harder than I'll never know
Over stuff so trival as what was cooked for food
And even though music played too loud is rude
Shooting a rifle over the neighbors heads isn't any less
But I suppose all the beer and drugs brought out your demons I guess
I know you watched as my colors turned to black
And it doesn't mean I've forgotten anything, becasue they've changed back
It just means, my pains are fading, unlike my fear
And I'm hoping we can be like we were once my heart has finished it's repairs

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
