My Ignorance

Contributed by Cora-Windover on Thursday, 13th November 2003 @ 10:59:51 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

The wise man says
''Turn around, and try again''
But what if I don't make it this time?
Is it too late to change my mind?

The wise man says
''Ignore him and get over it''
But what if I can't fake it this time?
What if he won't leave my mind?

Please forgive my ignorance
But can you tell me how life works?
Cuz mine's been so messed up these days
I just want to cry my soul away

The wise man says
''Listen, boy, or just forget''
I think I'll take forgetting for today
I can't stand to be so far away

Break down and cry
It's time to face what I've denied
I think I'll take denial once again
It's easier than trying to explain

Please forgive my ignorance
But can you tell me how life works?
Cuz mine's been so messed up these days
I just want to cry my soul away

Look at these fears in a dream
Is everything the way it seems
Maybe just believing will make it true...

Please forgive my ignorance
But can you tell me how life works?
Cuz mine's been so messed up these days
I just want to cry my soul away

There's someone out there just like you
Who won't believe that love is true
Who's life is so messed up these days
Sometimes he has to cry his soul away

Forgive my ignorance...
Cry your soul away...

Please forgive my ignorance
But why, may I ask, are you crying?

Please forgive my ignorance
I never knew how this could work
We've both been so messed up these days
We finally belong... today

Please forgive my ignorance
But can you tell me how life works?
Cuz mine's been so messed up these days
I think you know just why I feel this way

(Please forgive my ignorance)
I think you know just why I feel this way

(Please forgive my ignorance)
I think you know just why I feel this way

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
