I Love India but I don't want to be Eaten there

Contributed by blain on Wednesday, 10th July 2002 @ 06:55:54 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

a rippling golden coat,
brushing through the undergrowth
or just the sun rays
splashing through the dancing ferns?

an enchanting amber snake,
entranced, swaying from side to side,
or the playful striped tail
of a ravenous feline?

two mysterious gems
glowing in the light
or the spying eyes
of a hungry predator?

four legs, clear now, disappearing
and reappearing through the bush
it could be anything...
deer, leopard...Tiger.

a deep, throaty growl
majestic, yet eerie
or is what I hear
distant thunder's cry?

I'm not staying to find out. good bye!!

Blain! your work exceeds others that I know off that have been rated higher than this one. It's not everyday that we see such unorthodox treatment of wild animals in verse!
