A restless night of anticipation
Ends as I finally open my eyes
Forgetting my visions of blessed fiction
I sit up with a few tired sighs.
The early morning sunlight streams from my window
A small warmth surrounding the room
The beauty of light, was the gift it bestowed
Ridding the area of the darkening gloom
I take some time to rid my self of fatigue
standing in the middle of the place
My looks I bothered not to critique
As long as I could keep a smile on my face
I had not forgotten our promise to reunite
It was the first thing I had thought about
A flutter I could feel inside
I couldn't wait to see you again, no doubt
Open the closet door I flung
Finding something to suit the day
A pleasant song found I've sung
I wish every day could be this way
I wish not to eat, too much anticipation
Open the door, my book in hand
I venture out towards my station
beneath the willow tree, cross the land
I fall to my knees as I find shelter neath the tree
lying myself down on the cool shaded ground
Searched in my unmarked book to read
But I couldn't wait for you to come around.
Hours passed. I wish you'd get here
I find myself going inwardly insane
I try to relax, you won't forget me dear
I am not to wait in vain.
Time goes by, and evening comes
No sight nor sound of you
I am just about to give up
To return home and come unglue
I stir... but hear a single sigh
I turn and see no one
But someone has to be nearby
Or perhaps my sanity is done
I hear movement, but no one do I see
I've now become quite confused.
I peak my head to look round the tree
And my findings had me quite amused
For you were asleep behind the tree
pleasantly dreaming what it is you dream
For you had been there, waiting for me
How silly my doubt was, it seems.
