Gone in the Wave

Contributed by manormistress on Wednesday, 12th November 2003 @ 02:00:47 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

AsI stand on the shore of life and see the dark wave coming at me,
Nowhere to run or hide to keep it from crashing down.
As the blackness covers me, I feel myself start to drown.
No help, no lifeguard to pull me out, down I go
Never to come up or see the light again.

Why try? Why bother to even rise above it all?
All above is constant pain, just let go and leave it all behind.
To feel alive is to feel misery and what's it all about anyway?
"Don't go, we need you." they say.
Really? For convenience, clear consciences, their needs to be met.
What about my needs...
Alcohol, drugs, sex...just Bandaids to patch up gaping wounds
That never leave no matter what I do.
Scars that run soul-deep never leave and the past is never far.

Sinking down, down, just let me go.
What lies ahead couldn't be any worse than where I am now.
What has become of the me that once was?
Lost in life and lies and sorrow.
Can I ever be found again?
Waste, all is waste.

Those whom I leave behind are the only ones worthwhile,
Those who have come from this hell we call life...
Angels among the wolves.
I feel for them and what lies ahead for these earthbound ones.
May they never feel the wave that so engulfs me.
May there be a "happy ever after" at least for them.

Last breath beneath the wave-
I have bled just to know that I can feel anything at all.
Goodbye my angels
You are all that is left to let the world know that I was here at all.
Never forget that you were the ones that were my true loves in life.
Live and never mourn for me.
Rejoice in the ones who love you in my place
And I desire that they love you with undying love and devotion,
That which I have never felt in all my miserable years.
My happiness was to have the joy of knowing you and loving you
And those who love you with all their hearts.
The dark wave,
Sinking down
Blackness
Goodbye.
-Manor Mistress
