Down the hand falls as the hour grows near
Soon I'll awaken and get into gear
I'll wash my face and after my body
I'll blow my nose because it's quite snotty
Til then I'll sleep and dream of the one
A romantic heart never gives in until that heart is all done
Up the hands rise as the body goes stretch
and out the door for breakfast I'll fetch
Egg bagel I'll have with bacon and cheese
This morning black coffee and later green tea
I sit in the booth and take a test sip
My cashier could be her, as I recall her top lip
Round the hand goes as I make a left turn
The bathroom's my goal as my stomach churns
I'll sit down and read the good book
When I left Mc Donald's we exchanged looks
She occupies my thoughts but I dare not say word
Right now she's my angel, and I'm her cute nerd.

I liked this poem a lot. The rhythmn and flow of the words is great. Very entertaining too. ~olive |
