For every stone pilled

Contributed by lil_angel on Saturday, 24th August 2002 @ 08:39:44 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

For ever stone that is stacked on is one more blow that I received
Every time I add a layer is for a friend turning their back on me
Few may enter
The guards’ stand high and strong for they must stand alert heads held high
Dressed all in red
Only the blueness of their eyes stands out
They look straight ahead but watch keep their eyes all over for people attack from all sides

Who may enter?
Not those who hurt me for I will not give you an other chance to burn me.
The walls are high the walls are strong and they are not coming down
For my temple refuses to get burned again
Only a few hold the keys

Yet I look into the eyes of the one that has the keys
He doesn’t want to hurt me
Through my head runs thoughts
Maybe he won’t notice that they are back up
That the work that he did not last
That through the rubble of my old walls I have built new ones
New and stronger ones

I beg you to understand that I can’t afford to get hurt
That you are the only one I feel like I can trust right now
That all others have left me in such a short time
Can I trust you?
