Growing up you were a distant figure
I only learnt that once I was bigger
Is it too late to love you know your old
Your stories I ignored now must be told
nobody has given me more than you
Stubbornness aside I love you through and through
Do you regret the things we never explored
Time is catching up, no longer can it be ignored
Youth taught me to resent you anyway I could
If I could reverse that god knows I would
My ambition is to become like you
A mind of memories and heart so true
I'm lucky and proud to be known as your son
Father our journey now has just begun
