Mother And Son

Contributed by sbrandt on Tuesday, 11th November 2003 @ 12:32:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

They venture forth together,
She leads with trembling hand.
Their future is uncertain,
No telling where they’ll land.

A rocky past behind them,
They search for safer shores.
The path they walk is narrow,
The rain upon them pours.

“Who will offer haven?”
She cries into the night.
The answer not forthcoming,
She vows to uphold the fight.

They cross the bridge determined,
Their journey nearly done.
The sacrifice well worth it,
For a mother and her son.
