Inundation of Divine Splendor

Contributed by venkat on Tuesday, 11th November 2003 @ 12:35:28 AM in AEST
Topic: PoemsonBeauty

The dust of her feet forms
An island city where from
The sun of spiritual illumination
Rises to drive away the darkness
Of ignorance from the hearts of devotees;
It forms a cluster of flower buds
From which gushes forth the nectar
Of intelligence to enliven the dull witted;
It forms a necklace of wish yielding gems
For the poverty stricken who take refuge at her feet
It becomes a tusk of cosmic boar to uplift
Those who immersed in the ocean of Samsara;
The dust of her feet is gathered by the Creator
To bring out this universe into form;
To such a Divine Mother art my salutations!
May the Glorious Mother Sri Lalitha
With an inundation of splendor flow in my veins!
May She with a slender waist of beauty
Adorned with a girdle of lustrous jewels
With her frame slightly bent in the middle by
The weight of her golden breasts with bulging peaks
With her face shining like full moon in autumn
With her lotus hands sporting a bow of passion,
Arrows of flowers that control the senses of beings
And a goad that controls all cosmic forces
Vouch safe Her presence in my heart’s lotus!

venkat, great writting mate. I really need to dwell on your words, they are fairly intense as you would know. I like the lines:
From which gushes forth the nectar
Of intelligence to enliven the dull witted &

With her face shining like full moon in autumn

reminds me of a woman I know...great read mate.

Twinkletoes!
