six till two
always up by five
too tired to remember pills
table after table will remind him
top down, sunrise, big hair
jerks at every turn
opens up
maybe it'll be a rush day
personable and friendly
smiling for the tips
long forgotten me
maybe Anna's working too
sit down, have some lunch
break's over, back to work, but soon out the door
achey and sleepy on the way home
smelling like cigarettes and coffee
home to take a shower turning into nap
long-distance phone calls impossible
wake up, room's a wreck, she's yelling in the background
orange couch full of clothes
five dollars does the trick
over to Robin, Jordan, Andrew's?
always more to choose from
never knowing what the plan is
"be home for 11"
"I don't care if there's no work"
ok, ok, be good
home again, back in bed
church tomorrow
a question mark accompanies communion
not necessary but there
another weekend gone away
I know him all too well
